List Revisions

dropbox.list_revisions
ActionFiles & storageconnection required

Calls the Dropbox API with the connection's credentials.

List the stored revisions of a file, which is where the 'rev' that dropbox.restore_file needs comes from.

Connection

Required
Yes — the node will not save without one
Auth type
Bearer token
Providers
Dropbox
Secret shape

Resolved by
config.connection_id, else node.connection_id

Configuration

3 fields, 1 required. A dotted path is a nested object and name[] an array of objects — the editor renders the same tree.

FieldTypeRequiredDefaultConstraintsExample
path
The absolute path of the item, starting with a slash — or a Dropbox 'id:…' / 'rev:…' reference.
stringYes——/Reports/2026/q1.csv
limit
How many revisions to return, 1 to 100. Dropbox returns 10 when unset.
numberNo—1–100—
before_rev
Return only revisions older than this one. Leave blank for the newest page; to read the next page, set it to the 'rev' of the last entry the previous call returned.
stringNo——a1c10ce0dd78

Example configuration

Every value below is the contract’s own example or default — nothing invented.

{
  "before_rev": "a1c10ce0dd78",
  "path": "/Reports/2026/q1.csv"
}

Output

One shape.

result

FieldTypeExample
entries

array—
is_deleted
True when the file at that path is currently deleted or moved.
boolean—
server_deleted
When it was deleted, if it was (RFC 3339).
string—
has_more
True when older revisions are waiting behind this page.
boolean—
{
  "entries": [],
  "has_more": false,
  "is_deleted": false,
  "server_deleted": ""
}

Notes

  • Paths are absolute and start with a slash ('/Reports/2026/q1.csv'); the account root is the empty string. A Dropbox file id ('id:…') or revision ('rev:…') may be used anywhere a path is asked for.
  • Uploads and downloads use content.dropboxapi.com and everything else uses api.dropboxapi.com; the nodes pick the right host for you.
  • The connection's access token must carry the scope the call needs — files.content.write to upload, move, delete or restore, files.content.read to download, files.metadata.read to list, search or read metadata, sharing.read to list shared links, sharing.write to create or revoke one, and account_info.read for space usage.
  • One call returns one page, newest first. Dropbox pages this call by revision, not by cursor: while 'has_more' is true, call again with 'before_rev' set to the 'rev' of the last entry.

See List Revisions run in a workflow.

In a technical demo we add the Dropbox connection, drop the node on the canvas and let Workflow Health pre-flight it before the first real run.
