FieldTypeRequiredDefaultConstraintsExample
block_id
Id of the block to update.

block
The patch keyed by the block's own type, e.g. {"paragraph": {"rich_text": [{"type": "text", "text": {"content": "hi"}}]}}.
objectNo—≥ 1 characters{"paragraph":{"rich_text":[{"text":{"content":"hi"},"type":"text"}]}}
archived
True moves the block to the trash, false restores it.
booleanNo———
  • At least one of archived, block must be set.

Example configuration

Every value below is the contract’s own example or default — nothing invented.

  "block": {
    "paragraph": {
      "rich_text": [
        {
          "text": {
            "content": "hi"

  • A block cannot change type: the key in 'block' must be its current type.

See Update Block run in a workflow.

In a technical demo we add the Notion connection, drop the node on the canvas and let Workflow Health pre-flight it before the first real run.
