Attach Tag by UUID
misp.attach_tag

Configuration
3 fields, 2 required. A dotted path is a nested object and name[] an array of objects — the editor renders the same tree.
| Field | Type | Required | Default | Constraints | Example |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
uuid Full UUID of the event or attribute to tag; MISP rejects a partial one. | string | Yes | — | — | 5f0e1a2b-3c4d-5e6f-7a8b-9c0d1e2f3a4b |
tag Tag id or tag name, e.g. tlp:amber. MISP looks a name up on the instance. | string | Yes | — | — | tlp:amber |
local Attach the tag locally, so it is never shared with other instances. | boolean | No | false | — | — |
Example configuration
Every value below is the contract’s own example or default — nothing invented.
{
"local": false,
"tag": "tlp:amber",
"uuid": "5f0e1a2b-3c4d-5e6f-7a8b-9c0d1e2f3a4b"
}Output
One shape.
result
| Field | Type | Example |
|---|---|---|
uuid The record that was tagged. | string | — |
tag The tag that was attached or removed. | string | — |
attached True only when MISP reported the change as saved. | boolean | — |
message MISP's own wording for what happened. | string | — |
errors MISP's error payload, or null when there was none. | any | — |
{
"attached": false,
"errors": null,
"message": "",
"tag": "",
"uuid": ""
}Notes
- This endpoint creates a tag name the instance does not know instead of refusing it, so a typo silently adds a new tag; misp.add_event_tag and misp.add_attribute_tag reject an unknown name.
See Attach Tag by UUID run in a workflow.
In a technical demo we add the MISP connection, drop the node on the canvas and let Workflow Health pre-flight it before the first real run.
